AFP to deliver key presentation on

Serious and Organised Crime

at AFIF 2013

Commander David Sharpe of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) will deliver a presentation on the Government stance to counter serious and organised crime at our ports and airports, including the flow-on effect to our sector of the industry. This initiative evolved as a result of the Federal Government in 2010 establishing Taskforce Polaris to investigate organised crime on the waterfront in Sydney. It involved officers from the AFP, the NSW Police Force, Customs and the Australian and NSW Crime Commissions. This session will include relevant operational examples to assist your business to understand the associated issues and how to report any suspicion or incidence of crime.

There are a number of other important topical sessions within the conference program which has been designed to cover various sectors of our industry and to develop your general business and marketing skills.

The Conference will start in the days immediately after the Federal Budget is handed down in Canberra, so it will be a hive of activity, debate and discussion. Accommodation will fill quickly so be sure not to leave this until the last minute.

Importantly for Customs Brokers you will be able to earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points by attending various sessions throughout the program **
